Save Family Farming Executive Director Ben Tindall issued the following statement regarding the closure of Cow Palace, an Eastern Washington multigenerational family dairy the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 10 office has persecuted for over 10 years:
“The devastating news about Cow Palace drives home the fact that immediate change is needed at the EPA.
“EPA Region 10 attacks have now claimed 3 of the 4 dairies they began targeting over a decade ago.
“If the millions of dollars these dairies have spent satisfying demands far and above the requirements expected of virtually any other dairies in the nation aren’t enough, who can survive?
“The EPA and DOJ’s renewed attacks within the past year underscore the reality that the agencies’ efforts are not in good faith, but are intended to further their longtime vendetta against these dairies.
“Everyone in agriculture here in Region 10, and across the nation, should be worried about a government that persecutes farming this way.”
