Legislators Raise Voices in Support of Farm Workers

A number of legislators signed on to a letter to Gov. Inslee explaining the damage that a proposed bunk bed ban could have on both workers and farmers in the state’s tree fruit industry.

“It is critical we make sure our farm workers are safe and able to work,” said Rep. Bruce Chandler. He added that the tree fruit harvest would be “devastated” if the ban was implemented.

Washington’s 15th Legislative District, which Chandler represents, takes up the eastern half of Yakima County.
